What it does
WhatsApp Business for Community connects Odoo Community directly to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API, so you can send approved WhatsApp template messages from Odoo without paying for Enterprise. You configure your WhatsApp Business accounts, bring in your approved templates, and send a template to any record while the module fills variables, queues larger batches and tracks the real delivery and read status of every message.
Key features
- Account configuration. Register one or more WhatsApp Business accounts with the Meta app, phone number id, WhatsApp Business account id and access token. Sensitive credentials are admin-only, and a test-connection button verifies the setup.
- Templates, your way. Sync approved templates straight from Meta, or manage the body, header, buttons and variables inside Odoo. Templates carry field-mapped and free-text variables so each recipient gets the right content.
- Composer and send queue. Send a template to any record from a composer that resolves variables per recipient. Larger sends are deferred to a background queue and a scheduled job, so the interface stays responsive.
- Real status tracking. Each message runs through a full state machine, outgoing, sent, delivered, read, replied, error and bounced, and a secure signed status webhook updates it automatically from Meta.
- Opt-out and compliance. Inbound STOP and UNSUBSCRIBE replies opt the number out and add it to the phone blacklist. Phone numbers are validated and sanitized with the phonenumbers library.
- Multi-company and secure. Accounts are scoped to their allowed companies, with a two-tier User and Admin security model.
