Insurance Management Pro Legacy Migration reads an older broker system's records and maps them into the placement spine: policies and their terms, transactions, and the commission history behind them. It is built to be removed. Once the cutover is done the module is uninstalled, so legacy reading models do not sit in a production database forever. It is a free add-on and is not a standalone product: it requires Insurance Management Pro. Migration is a project with a beginning and an end, and this module is shaped to match.

What it does

Insurance Management Pro Legacy Migration reads an older broker system's records and maps them into the new structure: policies and the terms beneath them, historic transactions as typed events, and the commission history behind them.

What makes it different from the rest of the suite is that it is built to end. Once the cutover is complete the module is uninstalled, so models that exist only to read a legacy schema do not sit in a production database for years afterwards. That is also why it is a separate module: folding it into the core would make it permanent.

Brokers moving off an existing system who need their book and its history to arrive intact. If you are starting fresh in Odoo, you will never install this.
