Case study: Manufacturing
Production, quality and compliance in one system
A Kuwait chemical and petroleum manufacturer needed Odoo to match production and compliance workflows that standard configuration did not cover.
Industry
Chemical and petroleum manufacturing
Region
Kuwait
Odoo
Version 18 on Odoo.sh
Scope
Manufacturing, quality, commercial
The challenge
What was not working.
An industrial enterprise with complex production routes and regulatory compliance requirements. Standard module configuration did not reflect how the plant actually ran, and quality control and commercial processes were not connected to production in the way the business needed.
What we built
The work, in detail.
Manufacturing aligned to real routes
We configured and extended Manufacturing so it reflects the production workflows in use rather than a generic template.
Quality control connected to production
Quality Control was enhanced and wired into the manufacturing flow, so checks belong to the production record instead of running alongside it.
Commercial side joined up
CRM, Sales and Purchase were configured to align with the enterprise's commercial workflows and approval expectations.
Project tracking across the operation
Project was brought in so work spanning production and commercial functions is tracked in one place.
The result
What changed.
Production, quality and commercial functions on one aligned system
Quality checks tied to the production record
Compliance requirements reflected in the configured workflows

Modules behind this
Productised from real work.
Work from engagements like this one becomes a published module, so the next client installs it instead of paying to build it again.
Questions
About work like this.
Is Odoo suitable for process manufacturing?
It handles a lot of it, especially with Quality and Manufacturing configured together. Highly specialised process industries usually need extension work, which is what this engagement was.
Can Odoo Quality enforce checks during production?
Yes. Quality checks and control points can be attached to manufacturing operations so the check is part of the production step rather than a separate exercise.
How much of this was configuration versus development?
Mostly configuration and targeted enhancement. The aim is to keep as much as possible on standard Odoo so upgrades stay straightforward.
