Case study: Retail
One stock position across every branch
A multi-branch retail chain had no reliable view of stock across its stores. We connected every branch to one warehouse and made cross-store pickup work.

Retail and point of sale
Region
Multi-branch chain
Odoo
Retail ERP with POS
Scope
Centralised inventory, POS, e-invoicing
The challenge
What was not working.
Stock figures were inaccurate and nobody had visibility across branches. Counter staff could not check whether another store held an item, so customers were turned away from a chain that had the product. Reconciliation between the branches and the central warehouse was a manual exercise repeated every week.
What we built
The work, in detail.
One connected stock position
A centralised Odoo system linking every branch to the main warehouse with real-time stock synchronisation, so one figure is true everywhere.
Cross-store pickup
A customer can order at one store and collect at another, with the commitment and the internal transfer handled by the system rather than a phone call.
POS integration with automatic receipts
Point of sale wired to the cash hardware, with receipt messaging sent to the customer automatically.
Compliant electronic invoicing
Peppol e-invoicing integrated so invoices leave the system in the required electronic format.
Centralised purchasing and replenishment
Reordering is driven by the consolidated group position instead of per-branch guesswork.
The result
What changed.
Zero manual reconciliation between branches and the warehouse
Full inventory visibility across all locations
Counter staff answer stock questions without calling another store
Replenishment driven by one consolidated position

Modules behind this
Productised from real work.
Work from engagements like this one becomes a published module, so the next client installs it instead of paying to build it again.
Questions
About work like this.
Can Odoo POS show stock held at another branch?
Yes, with the right setup. The stock has to be centralised first, then the POS can surface other-location availability at the counter, which is what stops customers being turned away.
Does cross-store pickup need custom development?
Some of it. Odoo handles internal transfers natively, but the ordering and collection flow across stores usually needs work so staff and customers see one coherent process.
What is Peppol e-invoicing?
A standard electronic invoicing network used across Europe and beyond. Where it is mandated, invoices must be exchanged in a defined format rather than as a PDF attachment.
