Insurance Management Pro Rating.
Insurance Management Pro Rating adds a data driven premium engine. A rate plan is effective dated and versioned, and is only selected when approved. Under it, ordered steps each perform one typed operation, set, add, multiply, or look a value up in a table, against declared inputs. Nothing is computed from administrator written Python, so a premium can be reproduced and explained long after the person who configured it has gone. It is a free add-on and is not a standalone product: it requires Insurance Management Pro, and the core deliberately works with no rating engine at all because most brokers quote from carrier portals.

What it does
Insurance Management Pro Rating adds a data driven premium engine. A rate plan is effective dated and versioned, and is only selected when it has been approved. Underneath it, ordered steps each perform exactly one typed operation: set a value, add to it, multiply it, or look a value up in a rate table.
The constraint that shapes it is that nothing is computed from administrator written Python. A premium produced by a typed expression is a figure nobody can audit two years later, and it is an arbitrary code execution surface sitting inside a pricing path.
Who it's for
Brokers who rate anything in house, including a binder, a scheme or a delegated authority where you hold the rates rather than the carrier. If every quote you issue comes back from a carrier portal already priced, you do not need this, and the core module is built so you can leave it out.

Why is rating a separate module?
Because the core must work with no rating engine at all. Most brokers quote from carrier portals and never rate in house. Forcing a rating engine on them would add configuration they will never touch.
Can I write my own rating formula in Python?
No, deliberately. Rate plans are built from ordered typed steps against declared inputs. A premium produced by administrator written code is a calculation nobody can audit later, and it is an arbitrary code execution surface besides.
What happens when rates change mid year?
Create a new version of the plan with its own effective dates. The old version stays intact, so a policy rated last quarter can still be reproduced exactly as it was rated.
Does this connect to carrier rating APIs?
No. This module rates in house from your own tables. Outbound carrier and vehicle lookup integrations are a separate add-on.
