PDF Report Click Action lets you choose what happens the moment a PDF report is clicked in Odoo. Keep the standard download, open the report in a new browser tab in the built in PDF viewer, or view it inline inside Odoo without leaving the screen. The behavior is a per user preference with a per company default, so an administrator can set one default for the whole company while every user can still override it for themselves. No report is modified, it only changes how the finished PDF is delivered.

What it does
By default Odoo downloads a PDF file every time you print a report, which means an extra trip to your downloads folder before you can even look at it. This module adds a report click behavior setting with three choices. Download keeps the standard Odoo behavior. Open in a new tab sends the report to a new browser tab in the built in PDF viewer, with no file saved. View inside Odoo shows the report in an embedded viewer right where you are, without leaving the screen. The setting is a per user preference with a per company default, so an administrator can pick one default for the whole company while each user is free to choose differently. It applies to every PDF report, whether it comes from a Print button, a list action or a wizard, and it never changes your report content.

How do I stop Odoo from downloading a PDF every time I print a report?
Install this module and set the report click behavior to Open in a new tab or View inside Odoo. The report then opens in a viewer instead of downloading to your computer. You can set this for the whole company or just for yourself.
Can I open an Odoo report in a new browser tab instead of downloading it?
Yes. Set the report click behavior to Open in a new tab. When you click any PDF report it opens in a new tab using the browser built in PDF viewer, so you can read or print it without saving a file first.
Can each user choose their own report behavior in Odoo?
Yes. Every user has a report click behavior field in their Preferences. Leave it on the company default to follow the company setting, or pick Download, Open in a new tab or View inside Odoo just for yourself.
Where does the administrator set the default report behavior?
In Settings, General Settings, under the Reports section. The value chosen there is the default for everyone in that company, and any user can still override it in their own Preferences.
Does this change or replace my report templates?
No. It never touches your report content or templates. It only decides how the finished PDF is delivered to the browser, so your existing reports look exactly the same.
