A successful Odoo go-live is rarely luck. It is the result of following a clear process. Use this checklist to keep your implementation on track.

1. Discovery and scoping

  • Map your current workflows and pain points
  • Define clear goals and success criteria
  • List the apps you actually need, and the ones you do not
  • Decide Community vs Enterprise and your hosting

2. Solution design

  • Translate requirements into an Odoo blueprint
  • Identify where standard configuration is enough and where custom development is needed
  • Plan integrations with payment, shipping or other systems

3. Configuration and build

  • Configure each app to match your processes
  • Build any custom modules the Odoo way, so they survive upgrades
  • Set up users, access rights and companies

4. Data migration

  • Clean your data before importing
  • Migrate customers, products, open transactions and balances
  • Validate the migrated data against the source

5. Testing

  • Test every critical workflow end to end with real scenarios
  • Run user acceptance testing with the people who will use the system
  • Fix issues before, not after, go-live

6. Training and go-live

  • Train users by role on the real system
  • Prepare quick-reference guides
  • Go live with a support plan and someone on hand

7. After go-live

  • Gather feedback and refine
  • Monitor performance
  • Plan enhancements and keep the system current

Follow these steps and your rollout becomes a calm, predictable project. Want a partner to run it with you? Contact CODEerts.
