Insurance Management Pro Accounting.

Insurance Management Pro Accounting connects the broker's placement records to Odoo's own Accounting app. A policy transaction raises the client invoice through the company's configured journal, commission expectations are created from system derived figures, and a cancellation reverses through Odoo's own reverse mechanism rather than deleting or redrafting a posted entry. There is no parallel ledger, no custom journal entry table and no hand computed tax. It is a free add-on and is not a standalone product: it requires Insurance Management Pro, which holds the policies, terms and transactions it posts.

What it does

Insurance Management Pro Accounting connects the placement records to Odoo's Accounting app. A policy transaction raises the client invoice through the company's configured journal, and commission expectations are created from figures the system derived rather than fields a user can hand edit.

The design rule is that accounting is Odoo's accounting. There is no parallel ledger, no custom journal entry table and no hand computed tax, because a second set of books inside an Odoo database is a reconciliation problem rather than a feature.

Who it's for

Brokers who run their accounting in Odoo and want premium and commission to land in the same ledger as everything else. If you do not use Odoo Accounting, do not install this: the core module works without it, which is the whole reason this is a separate add-on.

Do I need this module to use Insurance Management Pro?

No. It is optional and free. A broker running the operational side without Odoo Accounting installs only the core module. This add-on exists so that Accounting is never forced on a buyer who does not want it.

Does it create its own ledger?

No, and that is deliberate. It posts through Odoo's Accounting app using the company's configured journal. There is no parallel ledger, no custom journal entry table and no hand computed tax.

What happens to accounting when a policy is cancelled?

The move is reversed using Odoo's own reverse mechanism. A posted entry is never deleted or pushed back to draft, and the module refuses to cancel a transaction while a posted move stands behind it.

Is it multi company aware?

Yes. Invoices are raised in the transaction's own company with that company's journal, rather than whichever company the user happens to be looking at.
