Overview

POS Default Customer.

Cashiers do not stop to pick a customer during a rush, so point of sale orders arrive with the field blank. Loyalty misses them, customer reporting understates, and nobody can attribute the day's takings. POS Default Customer preselects a customer of your choosing on every new order, per register, and applies the same default on the server order sync path so orders created while the till was offline are covered too. An optional lock stops cashiers swapping the customer mid sale. Refunds are deliberately exempt and keep the customer of the order being refunded, because a refund posted to the wrong account is worse than an unattributed sale. Odoo only loads a limited set of customers into the point of sale, ranked by order history, so a freshly created default would normally never be sent; this module forces it into that set.

What it does

Cashiers do not stop to pick a customer during a rush, so point of sale orders arrive with the field blank. Loyalty misses them, customer reporting understates, and nobody can attribute the day's takings.

POS Default Customer preselects a customer of your choosing on every new order, per register. The same default is applied on the server order sync path, so orders created while the till was offline are covered rather than arriving unattributed.

Refunds are deliberately exempt. A refund keeps the customer of the order it refunds, at the till and on the server, because a refund posted to the wrong account is a worse problem than an unattributed sale.

- Preselected on every new order. Nothing is left blank because the queue was long. - A default per register. A trade counter and a retail till can attribute differently. - Optional lock. Switch it on and cashiers cannot swap the customer mid sale. Leave it off and they change it freely. - Refunds keep the original customer. Never quietly reassigned to the default. - Existing choices respected. The default only fills a blank; it never overwrites a customer the cashier already picked. - Always reaches the till. Odoo loads a limited set of customers into the point of sale, ranked by order history, so a freshly created default would normally never be sent. This module forces it into that set.

Who it's for

Retailers who want every sale attributed for loyalty or reporting, businesses running a house account for walk-in trade, and anyone whose till operates offline where a browser-only default leaves gaps.
