MRR, ARR and churn on one screen
MRR is the number a recurring business lives on and churn is the number that decides whether it keeps living on it. Showing new subscriptions against churn in the same view is the point: net movement is the only growth figure that means anything, and two healthy-looking numbers can still net to flat.
MRR by plan tells you which product is actually carrying the business, which is often not the one attracting the most sign-ups. Paused subscriptions sits between active and churned and is the early warning most reporting misses entirely.
Who it's for
Subscription and recurring revenue businesses running Odoo Subscriptions, and anyone who has to state an MRR figure to a board or an investor. It suits a company with more than one plan, where the aggregate hides which tier is growing. Most valuable once churn is a real number rather than a rounding error.
Questions
About Subscriptions Dashboard.
How do I see MRR, ARR and churn on one screen in Odoo Subscriptions?
Install Subscriptions Dashboard. It adds a Dashboard as the first item in the Subscriptions app with live KPIs for MRR, ARR, active and paused subscriptions and churn, plus eight charts by plan, salesperson and customer.
Where does the Odoo subscription dashboard get its MRR and ARR figures?
They are read live from your real subscriptions when you open the dashboard or change the date range, so MRR, ARR and churn always match the records. Monetary figures show in your company currency with thousands separators.
Can I run the Odoo Subscriptions dashboard on Community, or does it need Enterprise?
You need Enterprise. Odoo's Subscriptions app is an Enterprise app and is not part of Community, so this dashboard has nothing to read from on a Community install. If you are on Community and evaluating, that is the blocker to solve first, not this module.
Why show new subscriptions and churn together?
Because net movement is the only growth figure that means anything. Two healthy-looking numbers can still net to flat, and reading either one alone is how a recurring business convinces itself it is growing.
What is the paused count for?
It sits between active and churned and is the early warning most reporting misses. A subscription that pauses has not left yet, which makes it the cheapest one to save.
