What it does

Timesheets Dashboard puts logged time on the first screen of the Timesheets app. Hours logged, entry count, average hours per entry, employees logging, projects worked and month to date hours sit across the top as clickable KPI tiles.

Nine interactive charts and a heatmap show hours over time, hours by employee, project, task, department and user, and hours by weekday. Pick any date range and every chart updates together.

Hours by project against hours by employee

The same hours, cut two ways, answering two different questions. By project tells you what work is costing, which is the input to whether a fixed price job is profitable. By employee tells you who is loaded and who is not, which is a staffing question. Teams that only look at one of these consistently discover the other too late.

Average hours per entry is a data quality signal more than a productivity one: entries that are all suspiciously round numbers are entries filled in at the end of the week from memory.

Who it's for

Professional services, agencies and any team that bills or costs time out of Odoo Timesheets. It suits an environment where project profitability depends on hours actually logged rather than hours assumed. The employees-logging tile is the practical one, because it tells you who has not filled in their timesheet while there is still time to ask.

Questions

About Timesheets Dashboard.

How do I see logged hours by employee and project on one screen in Odoo?

Install Timesheets Dashboard. It adds a Dashboard as the first item in the Timesheets app with live KPIs for hours logged and entries, plus nine charts and a heatmap for hours by employee, project, task and weekday.

Can I filter the Odoo timesheet dashboard by date range?

Yes. One-click ranges (Today, This Month, This Quarter, This Year, Last 12 Months or custom) re-query every KPI, chart and the weekday heatmap together, so you can review logged hours for any week, month or year.

Can I run the Odoo Timesheets dashboard on Community, or does it need Enterprise?

It works on both. Odoo's Timesheets app ships in Community, so the dashboard runs on a standard Community install with no Enterprise subscription. It is maintained for the current major Odoo versions; use the version selector on this page to pick your release.

Why cut hours by project and by employee separately?

They answer different questions. By project tells you what work is costing, which decides whether a fixed price job is profitable. By employee tells you who is loaded. Teams that watch only one consistently find out about the other too late.

Is average hours per entry a productivity measure?

More a data quality one. Entries that are all suspiciously round numbers are entries filled in at the end of the week from memory, and that is worth knowing before you cost a project from them.
