Case study: Retail
Live margin, not month-end guesswork
A Kuwait luxury fragrance retailer needed more than transaction capture. They needed live margin and profitability by product, team and period.
Industry
Luxury retail and point of sale
Region
Kuwait
Odoo
Version 19 on Odoo.sh
Scope
Retail ERP, POS, analytics
The challenge
What was not working.
A premium retailer running sales through point of sale and needing to understand margin, not just revenue. Standard reporting did not give profitability at the granularity the business needed, so management was reading period-end reports to answer questions that mattered daily.
What we built
The work, in detail.
A full retail ERP on Odoo 19
Accounting, POS, Sales and Purchase configured and extended with custom business logic to fit how a luxury retail operation actually trades.
A real-time analytical dashboard
We engineered a dashboard surfacing live KPIs: sales margins, cost analysis, revenue, profit and loss, and customer segmentation.
Filters that match how managers think
Advanced date-range and team-based filters, so the same dashboard answers questions by period and by sales team without exporting anything.
The result
What changed.
Live margin and profitability instead of period-end reports
Cost and revenue analysis available on demand
Customer segmentation visible alongside the numbers
Management questions answered without an export

Questions
About work like this.
Can Odoo show real-time profit margin?
Standard reporting gives you a lot, but live margin by product, team and period at the granularity retailers want is usually a custom dashboard on top of the standard data.
Does a custom dashboard slow down Odoo?
Not if it is built properly. The work is in querying efficiently and aggregating at the right level, rather than computing everything on every page load.
Can POS and accounting share one margin figure?
They should. The point of putting POS, Sales, Purchase and Accounting on one system is that cost and revenue come from the same records, so the margin is not reconciled between tools.
