Odoo Payment Gateways Compared: All 20 Built-in Providers

Odoo 19 ships with 20 online payment providers, from Stripe, PayPal and Adyen to regional ones such as Paymob, Razorpay and Mercado Pago. Picking one is mostly a question of where you sell and which of three features you need inside Odoo: refunds, manual capture and saved cards. If your gateway is not on the list, you need a connector from the Odoo Apps Store or a custom build.

Applies to Odoo 17, 18, 19 and 20, Community and Enterprise. Provider list and feature support checked against the Odoo source code in October 2026.

Which payment gateways does Odoo support out of the box?

Odoo 19 includes these providers in both Community and Enterprise. You find them under Accounting > Configuration > Online Payments > Payment Providers, or Website > Configuration > eCommerce > Payment Providers if you run a shop. Each provider is a module included with Odoo, installed from its card in that list.

Provider Typical market Refund from Odoo Manual capture Saved cards
Stripe Global Partial Full only Yes
Adyen Global Partial Partial Yes
PayPal Global No No No (yes in Odoo 20)
Nuvei Global No No No
Authorize.net United States, Canada Full only Full only Yes
Mollie Europe No No No (yes in Odoo 20)
Worldline Europe No No Yes
Buckaroo Netherlands, Europe No No No
Redsys Spain No No No (yes in Odoo 20)
Amazon Payment Services Middle East No No No
Paymob UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt No No No
iyzico Turkey No No No
Razorpay India Partial Full only Yes
Xendit Southeast Asia No No Yes
AsiaPay Asia Pacific No No No
ECPay Taiwan No No No
Toss Payments South Korea No No No
Flutterwave Africa No No Yes
DPO Africa No No No
Mercado Pago Latin America No No Yes

There is also a "Wire Transfer" method for manual bank payments, which needs no gateway at all.

Read "No" in this table as "not from inside Odoo". A PayPal refund is still possible, you just issue it in the PayPal dashboard and then record it in Odoo by hand. On a busy shop that double handling is where reconciliation errors start, so if refunds are frequent for you, give that column more weight than the fee difference.

What do refunds, manual capture and saved cards mean in practice?

These three columns are the difference between a gateway that is merely connected and one that fits your process.

  • Refund from Odoo. You refund from the payment transaction in Odoo and the money goes back through the gateway. "Partial" means you can refund part of an order, for example one returned item. "Full only" means all or nothing.
  • Manual capture. The card is authorised when the customer orders and charged later, typically when you ship. This matters for made-to-order goods and for anything that might go out of stock. "Full only" means you capture the whole authorised amount or cancel it; you cannot charge less because one line was not available.
  • Saved cards. The customer's card is stored as a token by the gateway, not by Odoo, so they can pay later invoices and subscriptions without typing it again. If you sell subscriptions, treat this column as a requirement, not a nice to have.

Stripe is also the only built-in provider in Odoo 19 that supports express checkout, the Google Pay and Apple Pay buttons that let a shopper skip the address form.

What changed between Odoo versions?

The list moves with every release, which matters if you are planning an upgrade or running an older version. One thing stays the same from Odoo 17 on: payment methods are a separate list from providers. A provider shows the cards, wallets and local methods it supports, and you switch each one on yourself.

Version What changed
Odoo 18 Several older connectors were retired, including Ogone, SIPS, Alipay and the old PayU modules.
Odoo 19 Six providers were added: DPO, ECPay, iyzico, Paymob, Redsys and Toss Payments.
Odoo 20 PayU returns, and Mollie, PayPal and Redsys gain saved cards.

If you are on Odoo 18 and your provider is in the "added in 19" row, that is a real argument for upgrading, or the hidden cost of not doing it.

Can customers pay by card at the point of sale?

Yes, with a supported card terminal. Odoo 19 Point of Sale connects directly to terminals from Adyen, Stripe, Razorpay, Viva.com, Mercado Pago, Pine Labs, QFPay and DPO Pay. The amount is sent from the till to the terminal, so the cashier never retypes it, and the payment lands on the order.

Online and in-store providers are configured separately. Using Stripe on your website does not mean your shop counter is set up for Stripe; check the terminal list for the country you trade in.

What if your gateway is not on the list?

This is common in markets the built-in list does not cover. Two examples from our own region:

  • Saudi Arabia. HyperPay is a common way to accept MADA cards, and Odoo has no built-in HyperPay connector. Our HyperPay Payment Gateway app adds it to the website checkout with server-verified payments and refunds from Odoo, and HyperPay All-in-One covers the website and the POS counter in one install.
  • Pakistan. The Paymob connector in Odoo maps merchant accounts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt only, so a Pakistani Paymob account is not covered, and local methods such as JazzCash and Easypaisa have no built-in connector.

When that happens you have three routes:

  1. An app from the Odoo Apps Store. Fastest and cheapest if a maintained one exists for your version. Check the version, the reviews and when it was last updated before you buy.
  2. A custom connector. Built on the gateway's API and Odoo's payment framework, so it behaves like the built-in ones: the same checkout, the same transaction records, the same reconciliation. Right for regional gateways and for flows the apps do not handle.
  3. A payment link outside Odoo. Workable for a handful of invoices a month. It breaks down quickly, because every payment has to be matched by hand.

Our rule of thumb: if more than a few dozen payments a month will go through the gateway, a proper connector pays for itself in reconciliation time alone. See what an Odoo integration costs for what drives the price of a custom one.

How do you choose the right gateway for Odoo?

Work through these in order, because each one narrows the next:

  1. Where are you, and where are your customers? A gateway has to support both your merchant country and your customers' cards and currencies. This rules out most of the list immediately.
  2. Which payment methods do your customers expect? Cards everywhere, but also wallets and local schemes. Check the provider's payment methods in Odoo, not just its name.
  3. Which of the three features do you need? Subscriptions need saved cards. Made-to-order or back-order selling needs manual capture. High return rates need refunds from Odoo.
  4. Do you also need it at the counter? If yes, the provider must also appear in the POS terminal list.
  5. Then compare fees. Fees matter, but a cheaper gateway that forces manual refunds usually costs more in staff time.

What should you test before going live?

Every provider in Odoo has a test mode. Use it, on a copy of your database, and walk through the cases that cause real trouble:

  • A successful payment, then check that the invoice is marked paid and the payment is reconciled.
  • A declined card, and confirm the order is not left half confirmed.
  • A customer who closes the browser on the payment page, then returns.
  • A refund, partial if your provider supports it.
  • A payment in a second currency, if you sell in more than one.

The browser-close case is the one most often missed. Gateways confirm payments in the background, so the order should update even if the customer never comes back to your site. If it does not, the connector is not configured correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Is Stripe or PayPal better for Odoo?

Inside Odoo, Stripe does more: refunds from Odoo, manual capture, saved cards and express checkout. PayPal in Odoo 19 supports none of those, though Odoo 20 adds saved cards. Many shops run both, Stripe for cards and PayPal for customers who prefer it.

Can I use more than one payment gateway in Odoo?

Yes. You can activate several providers and the customer chooses at checkout. Odoo hides a provider from a customer whose country or currency it is not set up for, so each customer only sees options that will work for them.

Do I need Odoo Enterprise for online payments?

No. All the built-in providers listed here are included in Odoo Community as well as Enterprise.

Does Odoo store my customers' card numbers?

No. With saved cards, the gateway stores the card and Odoo keeps only a token that refers to it. The card data stays with the payment provider.

How long does a custom payment gateway integration take?

For a gateway with a clean, documented API, a website connector is usually a matter of weeks rather than months. Point of sale terminals take longer, because the hardware has to be tested too. The gateway's API quality is the biggest variable.

Need a gateway Odoo does not support?

We build and maintain payment connectors for Odoo, including HyperPay for Saudi Arabia. Tell us which gateway you need and where you sell, and we will tell you whether an existing app fits or a custom build is the better route.
